What’s New in Elementor 3.7- New Features and Improvements
In our previous article we discussed everything you need to know about Elementor Pro 3.7.
And in this we will be taking a look at what’s new in Elementor 3.7.
This update is for the free version of the Elementor website builder plugin and it is focused on improving the workflow and taking care of your preferences.
On top of this quite a few improvements have been released for the new flexbox container.
It is important to know that Flexbox Container is still under Experiments.
Hence we do not recommend using it on a LIVE site.
The safest way to use and learn more about flexbox in Elementor is to use it on a local site.
Also, Elementor has created a flexbox playground using which you can get comfortable in using it.

What’s new in Elementor 3.7 update
It is important to know that Elementor 3.7 update was released on 8th August 2022.
And in this article we have tried to cover all the new features and improvements. Below is the list of topics.
Localization of Workspace in Elementor 3.7
In Elementor 3.7 a new feature known as localization has been introduced using which you will be able to change the language of the Elementor editor as per your preference.
For this feature to work, it is required that your choice of language pack must be installed in WordPress first.
After this, you will have to go to the user settings and select your preferred language from the site language dropdown.
Once done, edit a page or post with Elementor and you will notice that the Elementor editor has been translated to the language of your choice.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the default site language is English (US). However, the Elementor editor is in my preferred language which is Hindi.
It is important to know that selecting a preferred language will only translate WordPress dashboard and Elementor editor.
And the content will remain the same language which means it won’t be translated.
On top of this widget placeholder text will also remain in the same language as your site’s default language and it will not be translated.
This will give you a clear idea on how text will appear on the page you are creating.
Number scrubbing in Elementor 3.7
If you have been using design software like Adobe XD or Figma then you must be familiar with the fact that these tools allow you to change numeric values by clicking and moving the cursor.
This feature is known as number scrubber and it has been added to Elementor in its version 3.7.
To adjust numeric values in Elementor using the new number scrubber, all you have to do is hover your cursor over a property.
And it will change to horizontal “Object Resizing Cursor”.
Now you can click and drag to the left and right to change values accordingly.
It case you want to increase / decrease the values by 10 then you can additionally Press CTRL on Windows or CMD on Mac
Similarly for increasing or decreasing values by 1 you can Press ALT on Windows or Option on Mac.
New exit default setting in Elementor 3.7
If you have been using Elementor then you must be familiar with the fact that until now when you clicked the Exit to Dashboard option, it took you to the backend of the post / page which is the WordPress editor.
This has changed in Elementor Pro 3.7 as the new Exit to Dashboard options has been introduced.
Now, when you will click Exit to Dashboard, a popup will appear asking to select a default Exit location.
This has 3 options
- This Post- Selecting this option will take you to the backend of the post in WordPress editor.
- All Post- Selecting this will take you to all Pages or Posts depending on what you were editing or creating.
- WP Dashboard- Selecting this option will take you to the WP Dashboard.
It is important to know that once you have selected any of these options, the default exit to dashboard option will be set to it.
And anytime you will click Exit to Dashboard, it will take you to the selected location.
Please note- This popup will not appear once you have selected a value / option.
In case you want to change this location then you will have to head over to User Preferences where you will find Exit to dropdown.
Here you can select a location and then save changes by clicking Update.
Changes to Flexbox Container in Elementor 3.7
Flexbox Container was introduced in Elementor 3.6 and in version 3.7, it has received quite a few updates.
To see these changes, the first thing you have to do is activate Flexbox Container experiment and then create or edit a post with Elementor.
Layout Tab
The first thing that you will notice in the Container widget after updating to Elementor 3.7 is the changes to the Layout tab.
Before Elementor 3.7, the Flexbox Container has 2 tabs
- Container
- Items
After Elementor 3.7, you will still have 2 tabs and these will be
- Container
- Additional options
Another change that you will come across in the Container widget is that all of the Items tab settings have been moved to the Container tab.

After Elementor 3.7
On top of this, the Overflow and HTML tag dropdown have been moved to the new Additional Options tab.
Before Elementor 3.7

This is a good change as you have all the options that visually impact the layout under one tab.
And the options with no visual impact under the other tab.

Before Elementor 3.7
After Elementor 3.7
This note has been added to prevent any sort of issue arising from a tags being used on different nested elements.
Before we move forward, it is important to know that the a tag was not available in the inner section widget.
Hence, you will have to use a workaround to make columns clickable.
Add new container option
If you have been using Elementor to create page or complete websites then you must be familiar with the fact that Elementor allows you to add new columns (inner section widget) using the right click.
It is important to know that- this option (Add new container) was missing in the container widget before Elementor 3.7.
And after you will update to the latest version, it will show you the option to Add a New Container on right clicking.
On selecting it will add a new child container.

In case you want to change this value then a new Container padding option has been introduced in the Layout option under Site Settings.
And here all you have to do is add the values and it will override the default container padding.
Addition of em units
The next change that you will come across in the Elementor container widget is the addition of em units in the “Elements gap” or “Gap between Elements option”.
