First things first, the Elementor 3.5 was released on 14th December 2021 and it comes with features such as

The first feature that has been included in the Elementor 3.5 update is the mark widgets as favorite and this lets you personalize your editor panel.

If you have been using Elementor to design pages or build sites then I’m sure you must be using some widgets more than the others.

Using the mark widget as favorite feature, you can pin the most used widgets to the favorite section.

First things first, after updating to Elementor 3.5, when you will enter the editor you will notice a new section named Favorite.

And to add the most used widgets in this, you need to right click on the widget and it will show you the option to Add to Favorites.

It is important to know that you can mark any widget as favorite using this feature be it Pro or Free.

Add media and template files directly into the editor

If you have been using Elementor then I’m sure you are familiar with the fact that to add media on your page you need to select a widget first and then choose / upload media in the traditional way.

It is important to know that now there is an easier and shorter way of adding media in your Elementor editor and that is by dragging and dropping it on a widget that you have included on a page.

To understand this better, lets say you have added an image widget on a page / post that you are creating using Elementor.

Now to add an image you can simply drag and drop the image file directly from your computer and it will be uploaded automatically uploaded.

This means if you have optimized media file ready to be uploaded then you can skip the traditional way and just drag and drop it on the widget.

And Elementor will take care of the rest.

In case you are wondering, where is this media file going to be stored then let me tell you, it will be stored in the WordPress media library.

Also, in situations where you forget to add a widget first, Elementor will automatically add a corresponding one for the media file.

Apart from this, using the new drag and drop feature you will be able to add template files (.JSON) as well.

The uploaded templates will be stored in the Elementor Template Library.

Select multiple widgets at once in Elementor 3.5

Another interesting feature that has been included in Elementor 3.5 is the multiple element selection.

Using this you can select multiple items in the Elementor editor and can copy, paste, delete, duplicate, paste styles and reset style all at once.

You can use this feature on sections, columns or widgets as well in both Elementor editor and Navigation.

To select multiple elements in Elementor, all you have to do is press CTRL / CMD and click the ELements that you want to select.

New Transform property in Elementor 3.5

Elementor is page builder that is known for letting you create pages or sites that beautiful and engaging.

It comes with a lot of powerful design features which has been extended in this update to include Transform.

In version 3.5 of this plugin, the Transform CSS property has been introduced in Elementor and using it you will be able to apply 2D or 3D transformation to an element without having to worry about code.

Text Stroke in Elementor 3.5 update

Another design enhancement that has been included in the Elementor 3.5 update is the Text Stroke.

And using it you can design headings in such as way that it looks unique and grabs user attention.

First things first, Elementor free users will find the Text Stroke feature in only the Heading widget.

While Pro users will find it in the Site Title, Post Title and Page title widgets under the Style Tab.

It is important to know that the Text Stroke feature has not yet been included in the Advanced Headline widget.

Word Spacing in Elementor 3.5

When it comes to user experience, Typography plays an important role.

Think about a scenario where you land on a site that is offering every thing you need but the font is either too small or the words are too close to each other.

Both these conditions make it difficult for people to read easily which negatively impacts the user experience.

Keeping this in mind, in Elementor 3.5 update, Word Spacing has been introduced and it will allow you to adjust the spacing between the words.

You can find the Word Spacing under the Style tab in Typography settings and using it you will be able to change word spacing for any device.

Improved UI for Experiments tab in Elementor 3.5 update

In version 3.1 of Elementor, Experiments was introduced as a way for users to experience new features before they are officially released.

And in this update, its interface has received an improvement.

Before Elementor 3.5 update, Experiments tab just had all the upcoming features listed with an option to Activate / Deactivate and the status was mentioned just below it.

In Elementor 3.5 this has slightly changed with the Experiments tab looking more organized now.

First things first, when you now visit Experiments in Elementor, in the very beginning it gives you an option to Activate / Deactivate all the features under experiment at once.

Following this, the features under Experiments has been divided into 2 categories

  • Ongoing Experiments which included all features that are in Alpha or Beta

This improvement to the interface will clearly give you a clear idea on which features you can almost safely activate to experience.

Before we move forward, it is important to know that we only recommend using Alpha and Beta Experiments on a test site or local environment and not on LIVE sites.

New Inline Font Icons experiment in Elementor 3.5

Since the release of Elementor 3.0, Elementor has been focused on improving the performance with every update.

Keeping the tradition alive, in Elementor 3.5 update, a new experiment Inline Font Icons has been introduced that renders the icons as inline SVG without loading the Font Awesome and Icons Library and related CSS files.

Currently this experiment is disable by default. However, when you enable it, it will reduce the CSS and WOFF size on each page by 111kb leading to faster loading times.
