What’s New in Elementor 3.8 Update
In our previous article we have discussed all about the Elementor Pro 3.8 update.
And in this we are going to discuss what’s new in Elementor 3.8.
This update is for the free version of the Elementor plugin and is mainly focused on improving the already existing features.
A notable improvement that you will come across is Elementor 3.8 is the introduction of Remove Kit option and we will be discussing all about it in this article.
Also, the Container or the Flexbox Container experiment has officially been moved to BETA.

Elementor 3.8- New Features and Improvements
Before we learn about the Elementor 3.8 update, it is important to know that- this version was released on 30th October 2022.
And below we have shared all the topic covered
Remove last imported kit in Elementor 3.8
If you have used Elementor kits for building your site then you must have comes across the fact that it comes Global Colors, Fonts, Templates and more.
And on applying, it completely changes the design.
Now, there are options available to import the assets that you need.
However, if you want to reset the Appearance back to before applying this kit then there was no easy option available until you have taken a backup.
This has changed in Elementor 3.8 and a new Remove Kit option has been added using which you can restore your site to its previous state.
You will find this option in Elementor Tools under Import / Export kit tab in your WordPress dashboard.
First things first, you are not using Elementor site kit then this option will not be available / visible.
And when you will install, this Remove Kit option will appear.
Another thing you will have to know is that, using this option will completely restore your site to its previous state which means the content / any changes that you have made will be removed as well.
In case you want to save the content and only reset the Appearance then you will have to create a new page, save the content and then proceed with the changes.
Flexbox Container in Elementor 3.8
Flexbox Containers in the new way of creating layouts / sections using Elementor and it was released as an experiment in Elementor 3.6.
This feature has received quite a few improvements in Elementor 3.7 and in Elementor 3.8, it has been officially moved from Alpha status to Beta.

It is important to know that this experiment is still Inactive by default and to activate Flexbox Container in Elementor you will have to select Active in the dropdown and Save Changes.
On activating, it will take the place of the inner section widget which means you will no longer be able to use it.
However, you will still be able to make changes to existing sections / pages / templates.
In case you haven’t yet tried the Flexbox Container in Elementor then we will recommend trying Flexbox Playground.
Dynamic Tags for Global Colors
Global Colors in a feature that was introduced in Elementor 3.0 and it is a part of the Elementor Design System that includes Global Fonts as well.
In Elementor 3.8 update, Global Colors has received an improvement and Dynamic tags has been added to it.
Using these tags you will be able to use / assign colors from custom fields which simplifies the workflow.
It is important to know that to use Dynamic Tags in Elementor you will have to get the Pro version as this feature is not available in FREE.
Keeping this in mind, you will find the Dynamic tag option when you click the Color Picker in Global Colors.
This option was missing in the previous releases of Elementor and below are screenshots for comparison.

Here when you will click the Dynamic tag, it will allow you to select custom fields and then keys.
Text Align in Elementor 3.8
In Elementor 3.8, the inner section widget has received an improvement where responsive controls have been added to Text Align in both section and columns.
You will find the Text Align option under Typography in the Style tab when you will select a section or column.

Size units in Elementor 3.8
Elementor 3.8 is focused on improving the already existing features, in this update size units (px, em, rem and %) have been added to several widgets.
Letter spacing in Typography modal
To see this change, you will have to add / select a widget on your page and then head over to the Style tab under which you will find the Typography Settings.
Here you will have to click the edit / pencil icon and scroll till you find Letter spacing.
And there you will find the size units. Below we have shared screenshots for referrence.

Size in Icon widget
In the Elementor Icon widget, you will find the size setting under the Style tab and below we have shared the screenshots for comparison.

Spacing in Icon Box widget
Continuing on the trend, in the Icon Box widget, size units have been added to both size (discussed above) and the spacing control in Elementor 3.8.
You will find both these settings under the Style tab of the Elementor Icon Box widget.

Spacing in Image Box widget
In continuation from above, the size units have been added to the spacing control in Image box widget in Elementor 3.8.

Image size in Testimonial widget
The last widget in which the size units have been added in Elementor 3.8 is the Testimonial.
And you will find it in the Image Size control option under the Image tab in the Style settings.

Text stroke in Elementor 3.8
Just like the size units, in Elementor 3.8 text stroke has been added to several widgets, in this section we will be covering all about it.
Counter widget
Counter widget is a popular widget that allows you to add animated numbers on your page.
You must have comes across this feature on several sites where they showcase their achievements or stats.
And using this widget you can add it to your site easily.
In Elementor 3.8, the Counter widget has received an improvement where text stroke has been added to the number and title elements.
You will find Text Stroke under Style settings of the Counter widget under respective tabs and below we have shared screenshots for each.

Divider widget
Elementor allows you to add text in the Divider widget and in Elementor 3.8 update, Text Stroke has been added to it.
To see this change the first thing that you will have to do is select Text in Add Elemento option in the Divider widget.
And on doing this, a new set of Text settings will appear in the Style tab where you will se the new Text Stroke option.

Image box widget
The last widget in which text stroke widget has been added in Elementor 3.8 is the Image Box widget.
