Keeping this in mind, in Elementor 3.16, Flexbox Container feature was promoted to stable.

And it now comes disabled by default in new installations of Elementor.

Things to know before Fixing missing Flexbox Container in Elementor

Before we dive into the tutorial and fix this missing Flexbox Container widget issue, there are a few things that you need to know.

Flexbox Container or the Container widget is a new and better way of creating sites using Elementor.

It gives you access to a host of new features and revamped widgets that you cannot use with Inner Section.

Fixing this issue requires you to activate Flexbox Container feature in Elementor and on enabling it you will notice the inner section widget missing.

This is due to the fact that you cannot use Container widget with Inner Section.

Also, these can’t be used interchangably.

After reading this some of you must be thinking- what happens to the content / layout / designs created using Inner Section widget.

It is important to know that you will not be able to create anything new using the Inner Section.

However, you will still be able to edit or make changes to the designs that you have created using it.

On top of this, Elementor does provide you with the option to Convert to Container.

And you will see this option after enabling Container widget and then selecting a design built using Inner Section.

Keep in mind, converting a section to container might not be as straightforward as it seems.

Hence, it is recommended that you take a complete backup of your WordPress site .

And if possible make such changes on a staging site first and then push changes to LIVE.

Keeping this in mind, below are all the steps.

Login to WordPress

To fix missing Flexbox Container in Elementor, the first step is to login to your WordPress dashboard.

For this you need to visit https://your-domain.com/wp-admin and it will take you to the login page.

Please Note- Replace your-domain.com with your website’s domain.

Here you will have to enter the credentials and click Log In.

Navigate to Flexbox

Once you are in your WordPress dashboard, the next step is to visit the Features tab in Elementor Settings.

For this you need to click Settings under Elementor in the WordPress admin sidebar.

And it will show you all the settings.

Here you need to click Features and it will show you Ongoing Experiments followed by Stable Features.

Enable Flexbox Container

Once you are in the Features tab, the next step is to scroll down to Stable Features where you will find Flexbox Container dropdown.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the mark in front of Flexbox Container has the color gray.

This shows, the feature is not enabled.

In other words, currently on this site Inner Section widget is active.

To enable Container widget in Elementor, you need to select Active in the dropdown and Save changes.

On doing so you will notice the mark in front of Flexbox Container feature turn Green.

And this will disable Inner Section widget in Elementor.
