If yes then in this tutorial we have shared how can you do this easily.
In Elementor 3.6 update, one of the most awaited features known as Flexbox Container was introduced.
And it gave a new and better way for users to create layouts using Elementor.
Before the release of Flexbox Container, Inner Section widget was the only way available to build layouts with Elementor.
Now, it is important to know that Flexbox Container and Inner Section widget are very different and cannot be used with each other.
This means when you activate Flexbox Container feature in Elementor, you will notice the inner section widget missing.
And on disabling, you get access to Inner Section widget.
Keeping this in mind, in this tutorial we have shared how can you activate Inner Section widget in Elementor.
Things to know before you Activate Inner Section in Elementor
As discussed above, Flexbox Container is a feature that users were waiting for a long time and it gave a better alternative path for creating designs using Elementor.
Keeping this in mind, it is important to know that Flexbox Container is the future of working with Elementor.
And with that in mind, Elementor has been consistently releasing new features and revamping widgets to work with it.
Some of these newly released features and widgets do not work with Inner Section and as a result of this you will not get access to some of the features such as
- Tabs (Elementor 3.10)
- Accordion (Elementor 3.15)
- Mega Menu (Elementor Pro 3.12)
And more.
On top of this, some of the widgets that have been revamped to use Flexbox Container give you more control over design which is a huge plus.
Basically, moral of the story is Flexbox Container is a much easier and better way of working with Elementor.
And if you are still not using it then we suggest that you start learning and getting used to working with it as soon as possible.
To make things a little easier for you, Elementor has released a Flexbox Playground using which you can familiarize yourself with its controls.
Before we move forward, it is important to know that in Elementor Pro 3.16 update, the status of Flexbox Container feature has been updated to Stable.
And it comes enabled by default in new installations.
Now, if you have created anything using the Container widget on your site then on activating Inner Section widget, you will lose all content.
It is recommended that you take a complete backup of your WordPress site and if possible use a local / development environment for testing first before making changes to LIVE website.
Also, Inner Section widget was the only way of building layouts in Elementor for a long time and as a result of this there are a lot of sites that still use it.
In case you have sections, templates, pages, posts, parts or anything else built using Inner Section widget then you will still be able to make changes to them if Flexbox Container is active.
However, you won’t be able to create anything new using Inner Section widget.
