What’s new in Elementor pro 3.15
In our previous article we have touched on Elementor 3.15 update.
And in this, we are going to discuss what’s new in Elementor Pro 3.15.
This update is for the premium version of the Elementor website builder plugin.
And it means to access these features and improvements, you will have to upgrade to Elementor Pro.
As far as the features included in Elementor Pro 3.15 are concerned, new Taxonomy filter widget has been introduced and Offset sides option has been added to Carousel widgets.

Elementor Pro 3.15 Update
Before we learn more about Elementor Pro 3.15, it is important to know that this update was released on 31st July 2023.
And below are the topics covered.
Taxonomy Filter Widget
The first new feature that has been introduced in Elementor Pro 3.15 update is the new Taxonomy widget.
Using this widget you can allow users to filter Products, Pages and Posts based on their requirements.
While browsing the web you must have comes across sites that allow you to filter Products and Post based on Categories and Tags.
And this is exactly the purpose of this new Elementor widget.
Please note- This feature has been introduced as an experiment and comes disabled by default. Hence, we recommend using it on a Local or Test site first.
To see this feature, the first step is to activate Taxonomy filter in Elementor.
And for this you need to Navigate to Settings under Elementor in your WordPress dashboard.
Doing this will show you all the Elementor Settings and here you need to click the Features tab.
When you will click Features tab, it will show you all the ongoing experiments and stable features.
And here you will have to find Taxonomy filter under ongoing experiments.
As you can see, Taxonomy filter requires to activate Loop feature in Elementor.
This Loop feature comes enabled by default and you will find it under Stable features.
Please note- If the Loop feature is missing in Elementor then to fix it you will have to most likely buy Elementor Pro.
And you can do that by clicking our SPECIAL LINK.
Keeping this in mind, to enable Taxonomy filter widget in Elementor, you need to select Active in the dropdown and Save changes.
In the next step you will have to create or edit a post with Elementor and search for Taxonomy filter.
Once found you need to add it to the page by either dragging and dropping or by simply clicking.
Remember, adding widgets by just clicking is a feature that was introduced recently in Elementor 3.14.
Keeping this in mind, the first settings that you will come across in the new Taxonomy Filter widget in Elementor Pro 3.15 is the option to select a Loop Grid.
As discussed above, as of now the Taxonomy Filter widget only works with Loop Grid and thus it requires you to have one on the page.
In other words, if you do not have a Loop Grid on the page then you need add it.
Now, to select a Loop Grid widget, you will have click the Select a widget dropdown.
And it will show you the options.
On selecting a Loop Grid here, more settings will appear.
And the first one on the list is Taxonomy, using this option you will be able to select if you want to display Category or Tags filter.
The next option that you will come across is Direction and using it you can select if you want the filter to be displayed horizontally or vertically.
After Direction, you will find Item Alignment and as the name suggests this option allows you to align taxonomies.

Moving on, the next tab that you will comes across is Settings and in this you will find options that will allow you to
- Hide / Display Empty Items
- Hide / Display Taxonomy Children
- First Item
- Number of Taxonomies

As far as the styling options are concerned, you will find these under the Style Tab.
And just like any widget, you will be able to customize most aspects of the new Taxonomy Filter widget in Elementor Pro 3.15.
Offset Sides in Carousel Widget
While browsing the web, you must have come across sites that have a Carousel and in it you are able to partially view the previous and next slides.
This feature gives a visual clue to the user that there are more slides on display.
In Elementor Pro 3.15, this feature has been added to both Carousel (released in Elementor Pro 3.14) and Loop Carousel (released in Elementor Pro 3.11).
To see this change you need to edit a page or a post with Elementor and then add / select either the new Carousel or Loop Carousel widget.
In the next step you need to navigate to Setting tab and at the very end you will come across Offset Sides dropdown.
Offset Sides dropdown has 4 options
- None
- Both
- Left
- Right
Here you can pick an option based on your requirements and it will show the Offset Width option.
As the name suggests using this option you will be able to set the width of the Offset.
Once you are done making changes click Update and Preview your page.
Please note- You will not be able to see Offset in the Elementor editor. Hence, it is required that you save changes and Preview.
