- General

- Advance
These new tabs will make it easier for users to find the right settings. See the below screenshots for reference
- Before Kadence Blocks 3.0
- After Kadence Blocks 3.0
It is important to know that in WordPress 6.2, you will find some native blocks with similar split controls.
And we have touched on this in our article on WordPress 6.2 BETA.
New Border Controls

The new interface is very similar to the gradient picked in the native WordPress picker.

After the inner blocks, the next change that we are going to discuss is for the row layout block.
In Kadence Blocks 3.0, you will come across quite a few changes to the row layout block.
And these are
New grid Layouts
The first change that you will come across in the Row Layout block in Kadence Blocks 3.0 is the addition of new Grid Layouts.
Until now when you selected a 3 or 4 column layout, it only allowed you to choose from a multi-column or stacked layout.
See the below screenshot for reference.

Move Sections
The next improvement that you will come across in the Row Layout block is the addition of the ability to move sections easily.
Or in other words re-arrange inner sections easily.
Now, one thing that you will have to keep in mind here is that there was no grid layout option available before Kadence Blocks 3.0 (as discussed above).
And this means to build a grid you will have to use multiple Row Layout blocks.
On top of this, the section block inside the row layout came disable by default which further made the movement difficult.
After Kadence Blocks 3.0, this has changes and now you can easily move sections with just one click.
- Before Kadence Blocks 3.0
- After Kadence Blocks 3.0
Before we move forward, it is important to know that lock attribute was introduced in WordPress 5.9.
And its visual controls that you see in the block ellipsis menu were added in WordPress 6.0.
Custom CSS
Another change that you will come across in Kadence Blocks 3.0 is for the Custom CSS option in both Row Layout and Sections block.
And in this a new option Edit in Modal has been added clicking which will open the code editor in a new modal.
- Before Kadence Blocks 3.0
- After Kadence Blocks 3.0
This improvement will make it easier for you to add custom CSS code to Row Layout and Section block in Kadence.
Typed Text in Advanced Text Block
After the Row Layout the next topic that you will come across has been introduced in the Advanced Text block.
And it is known as Typed Text.
Using this feature you will be able to create attention grabbing headings by specifying a set of strings which will be type out and replaced in the content.
You will find Type Text option on clicking the arrow in the Advanced Text block toolbar.
- Before Kadence Blocks 3.0
- After Kadence Blocks 3.0
On selecting Typed Text, it will show you all the settings where you will be able to
- Change cursor
- Add strings
- Set speed
And more.
Keep in mind, for this feature to work you will have to select a word or phrase and then use Typed Text.
Copy and Paste Styles
Moving on from the Type Text, the next improvement that you will come across in Kadence Blocks 3.0 is that the Copy and Paste style option has been added to all blocks.
- Before Kadence Blocks 3.0
- After Kadence Blocks 3.0
Using this feature, you will be able to easily copy and paste styles which will improve workflow.
It is important to know that, this feature only allows you to copy and paste styles between same blocks.
For example, you can only copy styles from a Advanced Button block to the other.
Visual Padding and Margin
If you have been using Kadence Blocks to build layouts then you must be familiar with the fact that on hovering, it displays the padding you have set.
This feature has been improved in Kadence Blocks 3.0 and now it will highlight the padding and margin set showing in visually.
Visualization helps you understand how an element behaves when you add padding and margin giving you a clear idea about its impact on page layout.
Before we move forward, it is important to know that visualization of padding and margin was introduced in WordPress 6.1.
And we have discussed it briefly in our article on WordPress 6.1 BETA.
Improved Icon Picker
Another change that you will come across in Kadence Blocks 3.0 is for the icon picker.
Before Kadence Blocks 3.0, to choose icons, you had to go from one page to the other in the icon picker.
After Kadence Blocks 3.0, this has changed and now all the icons will be visible on scroll.
It is important to know that you will see this improvement across all blocks using icon picker and below we have shared the list.

- Info Box
- Advanced Button
- Advanced Text
- Icon List
- Testimonial
- Tabs
Block Defaults in Kadence Blocks 3.0
After the icon picker, the next new feature that has been introduced in Kadence Blocks 3.0 is the Block Defaults.
And using this feature you will be able to change or set new default state of a block.
Keep in mind, this feature is very different from Global Styles and Reusable blocks.
And example of this feature will be a styled table of content block that you can just add and use any where on your site.
Now to see this feature, you will have to navigate to Advanced tab in block settings.
And under block defaults, you will find the option to Save as Default.
On clicking Save as Default, it will change the default state of the block to the custom.
Also, once you have set the new default state, you will be able to export block defaults as well which will further improve workflow.
And you will find this option in Kadence Block controls.
Just for informational purposes, this feature was recently introduced in Elementor 3.9 as well.
